WILLIAM PATERSON HOLDS ON TO WIN THE 34TH EC TIP-OFF CLASSIC OVER THE SAINTS
THE LEAD: Senior forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, NJ) and junior guard Sihana Asani (Lincoln Park, NJ) led the scoring attack of the William Paterson University Pioneers to the first win of the 34th Emmanuel College Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon on the Andy Yosinoff Court.

THE LEAD: Senior forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, NJ) and junior guard Sihana Asani (Lincoln Park, NJ) led the scoring attack of the William Paterson University Pioneers to the first win of the 34th Emmanuel College Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon on the Andy Yosinoff Court.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pioneers and Saints played a close first quarter, ending with a one point lead by the Pioneers 18-17.
- The Saints were forced to go to its bench early in the first half with Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (South Boston, MA), and Mary McCarthy (Scituate, MA) both in foul trouble.
- Senior forward Tori Woetzel (Wyckoff, NJ) led the offensive charge in the third quarter for the Pioneers, edging the Saints 60-55 to end the third quarter.
- A great defensive effort in the fourth by the Pioneers held the Saints to only 15 points in the quarter, finishing the game Pioneers 83, Saints 70.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Julie Rovito (Ridgefield Park, NJ) of William Paterson ended the day with a game high 25 points, along with six rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks.
- Woetzel finished the game with the only double-double on the day for either team, finishing with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
- Alisha Fox led the offense for the Saints with a team high of 23 points, many of which came from off of the dribble.
- The Saints bench played a good amount of minutes on the day, helping the starters with a combined 25 of the teams 70 points.
