FOX FUELS WOMEN'S HOOPS PAST PINE MANOR, 91-75
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior guard Alisha Fox (National Park, N.J.) poured in a career high 25 points to lift the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team past host Pine Manor College, 91-75, Thursday evening in non-conference action. The Saints capture their fourth consecutive win to improve to 5-3 on the year while the loss drops the Gators to 4-5 overall.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior guard Alisha Fox (National Park, N.J.) poured in a career high 25 points to lift the Emmanuel College women's basketball team past host Pine Manor College, 91-75, Thursday evening in non-conference action. The Saints capture their fourth consecutive win to improve to 5-3 on the year while the loss drops the Gators to 4-5 overall.
Fox shot an impressive 76.9% from the field, converting 10 of 13 field goal attempts including four from behind the arc to help the Saints shoot 43.9% from the field as a team in the win.
EC never trailed in the win, jumping ahead early and never looking back. The Saints outscored the Gators 25-13 in the opening quarter which was more than enough to cruise throughout the rest of the game to the win.
Emmanuel built up a commanding 69-48 lead heading into the final frame before the Gators made up some ground, outscoring the Saints 27-22 in the final frame but it was not enough as EC held on for the 91-75 victory.
Freshman guard Kayla Weaver (West Haven, Conn.) also netted double-figures for the Saints with 12 points while sophomore Madison McLaughlin (Westerly, R.I.) added nine points.
Erica Jones (Atlanta, Ga.) paced Pine Manor with 25 points playing all 40 minutes while Shaquanda Middleton (Savannah, Ga.) scored 19 points and dished out five assists.
The Saints return to action for their final contest of the semester on Tuesday, December 13 for a 7:00 PM home tilt against Salem State University. The Gators play host to Wentworth this Saturday, December 10 for a 3:00 PM contest.
