HIGGINS NAMED GNAC WOMEN’S HOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AGAIN
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior guard Sarah Higgins (Groveland, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. The honor marks the second occasion this season Higgins has been honored by the GNAC, also earning Player of the Week honors back on Jan. 18.

The honor marks the second occasion this season Higgins has been honored by the GNAC, also earning Player of the Week honors back on Jan. 18.
In her only game last week, Higgins posted a double-double in a 70-60 win over Albertus Magnus with game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (13). The senior also added a game-high seven steals as well as a game-high five assists. Additionally, the guard recorded two blocks in the win.
On the year, the Groveland, Mass. native is averaging a team-high 14.3 points per game to rank ninth overall in the GNAC. Higgins ranks second on the team in rebounds per game averaging 6.6 which is good for 18th in the Conference.
Over her career, Higgins has accumulated 1,043 points and 480 rebounds to go along with 235 assists and 208 steals.
Emmanuel is currently on a five-game win streak and stands at 19-6 overall after wrapping up the 2015-16 regular-season with a 70-60 win over Albertus Magnus. The Saints and Falcons will meet again in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:00 PM. Emmanuel earns the #3 seed and will host #6 AMC in the opening round of the GNAC tournament tomorrow evening.
