BUJNOWSKI LEADS SAINTS PAST MEDGAR EVERS
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Senior forward Jennifer Bujnowski (Salem, N.H.) recorded game-highs of 19 points and 11 boards, to lead Emmanuel College to a 79-31 win over Medgar Evers College on Sunday afternoon in non-conference women’s basketball action. The Saints’ 79 points tied their season-high total, as Emmanuel improved to 4-6 on the year with the win.

The Saints' 79 points tied their season-high total, as Emmanuel improved to 4-6 on the year with the win.
Following a hard-fought loss to 11th-ranked NYU on Saturday night, the Saints capped their two-game New York City road trip with the decisive victory in Brooklyn on Sunday. EC held the host Cougars to 19 first-half points, including just three field goals. Thirteen of the Medgar Evers' 19 first-half points came via free throws with Jade Venson (Bronx, N.Y.) connecting on 10-10 of her tries from the stripe in the opening frame. Emmanuel held a 37-19 edge at the break.
The Saints came out strong in the second half, playing much better defense. Emmanuel forced 20 turnovers in the second stanza and sent the Cougars to the line just more four times. The visitors netted 42 points and held the hosts to just 12 in the second half.
Eleven of twelve Emmanuel players scored in the win, led by Bujnowski's monster double-double. The senior's 19 points and 11 boards came in just 14 minutes of work. She led a trio of double-figure scorers for the Saints. Sophomore forward Alexis Ezell (Acworth, Ga.) finished just one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Ryan Maynard (Bowie, Md.) netted her season-high of 11 points, to go along with her five steals. Rookie guard Karlee Alves (Ellington, Conn.) chipped in with eight points and five rebounds, while sophomore Cassey LePage (Somerset, Mass.) came off the bench to hit her career-high of eight points in the win.
Venson would finish with 14 points to lead the Cougars. Sophomore Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y.) hauled in a team-high 10 rebounds in the effort for Medgar Evers.
The Saints will now break for final exams and the holidays. Emmanuel will return to action on December 30th and 31st, when they travel to Puerto Rico for contests with Babson College and Baldwin-Wallace University.
