March 2, 2009
Emmanuel College's Curtis Abram was recently named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the second time this season. Abram's latest GNAC recognition came on March 2nd, after the sophomore outside hitter led the Saints to an undefeated week. The San Luis Obispo, California native totaled 22 kills in 29 swings, averaging an incredible 7.33 kills per set, while hitting .690 on the week. Abram also picked up 3 digs and 3 blocks, as Emmanuel shut out Mount Ida College, 3-0, on February 25th. Abram and the Saints are now 14-9 on the season and face back-to-back challenging matches next week, when they take on Newbury College on 3/17 and MIT on 3/19.
Abram shared his most recent GNAC honor with Lasell College's Dave Rogers (Belchertown, Mass.) and Rivier College's Zach Hansen (Shelton, Conn.), as the conference selected tri-player of the week on March 2nd.
