SAINTS TOP WILDCATS IN STRAIGHT SETS

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel College Men's Volleyball Team rebounded from a 3-0 loss at Rivier College on Tuesday night to sweep Johnson & Wales University in the second meeting between these two teams this season. The Saints charged to three straight victories, winning 30-16, 30-17, and 30-16 in the non-conference match-up.
Emmanuel was led by sophomore captain Michael Townsend (Beaverdam, VA), who hit an amazing .714 for the match, smashing down 11 kills in 14 total attempts. Freshman middle Keoni Rabaino (Tucson, AZ) notched 8 kills and 4 digs, while sophomore middle Sophanna Lout (Allston, MA) tallied 7 kills and a team-high 12 digs for the victors. Freshman Stephen Keeney (Snellville, GA) rattled off 3 service aces to go along with his 6 kills and freshman Cameron Todd (Los Angeles, CA) chipped in with 5 kills in the win. Sophomore setter Taylor Lowe (Malibu, CA) dished out a team-high 38 assists for the Saints.
With this win, Emmanuel improves to 11-12 on the season and remains 5-2 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA). The Saints are off next week for spring break, but will return to action on Tuesday, March 18th, when they travel to Mount Ida College to take on the Mustangs in a 7pm start. Emmanuel will play three of their four remaining regular season matches on their home court.
