MEN'S VOLLEYBALL GOES 1-2 IN SATURDAY MATCHES

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball Team hosted four matches on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fell to the University of New Haven and to Mount Olive College in non-conference action, but rebounded to defeated Southern Vermont College in a NECVA match.
Emmanuel opened up the day with a 3-1 loss (34-36, 30-22, 26-30, 21-30) to the Chargers of University of New Haven. The Saints then fell to North Carolina's Mount Olive College Trojans in straight sets, (18-30, 21-30, 22-30). In Emmanuel's final match of the day, the Saints downed the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont College, 3-0, to remain undefeated in North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) play at 4-0.
The Saints continue to be led by rookie outside hitter Curtis Abram (San Luis Obispo, CA), who is averaging 3.56 kills and 1.67 digs per game. Sophomore hitter Michael Townsend (Beaverdam, VA) is back from an ankle injury and tallying 2.83 kills, 1.98 digs, and 0.63 aces per game. Senior opposite Brendan Ellis (Chelmsford, MA) is good for 2.31 kills per game, while the team's setter Taylor Lowe (Malibu, CA) is dishing out 10.08 assists per outing.
Emmanuel is now 9-10 overall, heading into Monday night's conference match at Lasell College at 7pm. The Saints have split with the Lasers so far this season. Emmanuel was defeated at home, 3-2, back on January 26th, but the Saints took care of Lasell in three games at the MIT Invitational on February 9th.
