SAINTS STAY PERFECT IN NECVA WITH SWEEP OF LESLEY

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball Team cruised to a 3-game sweep of Lesley University on Thursday night in the Jean Yawkey Center. The Saints won the match, 30-24, 32-30, and 30-14. With the win, Emmanuel improved to 7-6 overall and stays unbeaten in NECVA play at 3-0. The Lynx have yet to win a match this season and dropped to 0-10 overall and 0-9 in NECVA -New England.
The Saints had several players out with injuries and went with a very young line-up for the match. Emmanuel was led by freshman opposite Matt Salvi (Trumbull, CT), who hammered down 11 kills. Freshman outside hitter Joe Catanzaro (Scituate, RI) tallied 10 kills, while senior middle Sophanna Lout (Allston, MA) recorded 6 kills and 5 blocks for EC. Freshman outside hitter Stephen Keeney (Snellville, GA) played a solid 3-game match, notching 8 aces, 8 digs, and 7 kills for the Saints. Freshman setter Sean O'Connor (Hampstead, NH) dished out a match-high 32 assists, while freshman middle Cameron Todd (Los Angeles, CA) chipped in with 5 kills, hitting .400 for the match.
The Saints will travel to New Paltz, New York on Saturday (2/16) for a non-conference tri-match. Emmanuel will take on host SUNY-New Paltz at 2pm and New Jersey City University at 4pm.
