RAIDERS HAND SAINTS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS

NASHUA, N.H. - NASHUA, N.H. - The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball Team suffered a straight-set loss to host Rivier College on Friday night. The 3-0 defeat was the first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss for the Saints. Emmanuel dropped to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the league. The Raiders, who were ranked 6th in the most recent NECVA coaches' poll, improved to 10-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
The Raiders took care of the Saints 30-24, 30-24, and 30-18. Emmanuel was led by junior Michael Townsend (Beaverdam, Va.) and sophomore Curtis Abram (San Luis Obispo, Calif.), who notched 12 kills apiece in the loss. Setters, Sean O'Connor (Hampstead, N.H.) and Taylor Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) split the match and combined for 33 assists in the effort.
Emmanuel will play again on Wednesday, when the Saints host the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College in a 7pm start. This is the first year of varsity competition for the visiting Falcons.
