BEFORE EMMANUEL...Mathews was a three-sport athlete at Spring Grove High School (Spring Grove, Pa.)...played four years of varsity soccer and volleyball and one year of tennis...was a three-year starter in both volleyball and soccer...named 1st Team All-County and All-District in volleyball...selected All-County in soccer as a senior...played for the Yorktown 18's Volleyball Team...placed 15th at Open Nationals.
