AS A JUNIOR...DeLuise was a team co-captain
for the second-straight year...also voted the team's Unsung Hero
for the second consecutive year...named to both the NECVA
All-Academic Team and to the GNAC Academic All-Conference
Team...played in 32 matches for the Saints...was third on the team
in digs (1.50 per set)...totaled 147 digs, 14 assists, 5 kills and
2 service aces... helped the Saints to a program-best 27 wins,
including making a trip to the GNAC Finals and to the NECVA
Tournament.
AS A SOPHOMORE...DeLuise was a co-captain for the
Saints...played in 29 matches...was named SUNY New Paltz Hawks
Invitational All-Tournament Team Honorable Mention...finished the
season ranked nationally in digs (22nd)..was named to the NECVA
All-Academic Team and to the GNAC Academic All-Conference
Team...was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American
nominee...selected the team's Unsung Hero...led the Emmanuel
backrow, totaling 282 digs (2.74 per set)...tallied 13 kills, 8
assists and 2 service aces... helped Emmanuel to a 19-13 overall
record and a 9-3 GNAC mark, including a trip to the GNAC Finals and
to the NECVA Tournament.
AS A FRESHMAN...DeLuise played in 87 sets for the
Saints...totaled 110 digs (1.26 digs per set), 11 service aces, 10
assists and 5 kills as a rookie...received the Coaches'
Appreciation Award in 2008... helped the Saints to a 14-15 overall
record and a trip to the GNAC Finals.
BEFORE EMMANUEL...DeLuise was a two-sport athlete at South
Kingstown High School (Wakefield, R.I.), competing in volleyball
and cross country...was named the volleyball Rookie of the Year as
a freshman, Best All-Around Player and junior varsity team captain
as a sophomore and varsity team captain as a senior.
