Bio

Rainey joins the Emmanuel College staff for the start of the 2020 campaign as an Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach. Rainey finished up his collegiate career at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass. in May 2014 and is excited to join the Saints staff.

At Elms, Rainey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology while leading the volleyball program for four years.

As an outside hitter, Rainey enjoyed a stellar four-year playing career with the Blazers, earning First Team NECC Honors three times as well as 2011 NECC Rookie of the Year honors and 2014 NECC Player of the Year accolades. He graduated with 1,082 career kills which is the all-time program leader and also ranks third all-time at Elms in digs (735) and total blocks (170).

Rainey has served as the Brookline High School boys volleyball coach since 2016, overseeing all facets of the program.

When not coaching for the Saints, Rainey works full-time in the Boston Public Schools system.
