Men's Volleyball Takes Two vs. Fisher in Saturday Doubleheader
BOSTON – The Emmanuel Saints men’s volleyball program swept a doubleheader of matches this morning against the Fisher College Falcons, boosting their winning streak to four games, following the straight sets, doubleheader sweep, on Saturday in non-conference play in the Jean Yawkey Center.

BOSTON – The Emmanuel Saints men's volleyball program swept a doubleheader of matches this morning against the Fisher College Falcons, boosting their winning streak to four games, following the straight sets, doubleheader sweep, on Saturday in non-conference play in the Jean Yawkey Center.
MATCH ONE: Emmanuel 3 – Fisher 0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-23)
In match one, the Saints came out of the blocks quickly in the first two sets, finishing the first with 14 kills, two errors, and 23 attacks, to hit .522, winning the set 25-10. In the second, Emmanuel had 15 kills, with three errors, on 37 attempts, hitting .324, to claim the second set 25-13.
But in the third, resistance from the Falcons nearly sent the first match into a fourth set. Fisher led the entire set and led by as many as four, up until the final points of the frame. At 22-22, Emmanuel claimed two straight points, before failing on their first match point. Junior Devon Perelgut (Plaistow, N.H.) finished off the set and completed the straight sets sweep with a kill and a 25-23 win.
The Falcons hit a team-high for a set .263 in the third set, outhitting the Saints percentage of .167. Included in the .263 for Fisher was six total team kills.
Saints first-year Cayson Branconier (Landstuhl, Germany) finished with a career-high 11 kills while Perelgut added another 10 for the home side. Senior Leonard Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) added six service aces.
Falcons first-year Ben Horton (Woburn, Mass.) led the Falcons with seven kills, hitting .312 in the opening match.
MATCH TWO: Emmanuel 3 – Fisher 0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-8)
For match two, the Saints hit .400 in the first set, .550 in the second, and closed with another .400 hitting percentage in the third in another straight sets sweep.
The opening set was highlighted by an 8-0 run in the middle of the set and a 7-0 run to end the set, giving Emmanuel a 25-6 set win. Three separate 4-0 spurts in the second set helped the Saints to a 25-9 win. In the third, another series of four-point runs, lifted the Saints to the straight sets victory.
Junior Maximilian Olsen (Barnstable, Mass.) had a match-best 11 kills, hitting .600 from the floor in the win. First-year Declan Morrison (North Kingstown, R.I.) added nine kills and a .471 hitting percentage.
Falcons junior Ethan Marshall (Melbourne, Australia) had a team-high five kills in the defeat.
The Saints take a four-game winning streak and 11-6 overall record to Dean College on March 19 for a 6:00 p.m. match.
