Saints Score Straight Sets Win in Non-Conference Match at Brooklyn

- Brooklyn will look to bounce back on Sunday in their first match on the road this season at Sarah Lawrence at 1:00 p.m.
- The Saints welcome Wentworth, the top-ranked team in all of Division III, in their conference opener on Feb. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
How It Happened
- Brooklyn hung in with the visitors in the early goings of the opening set, taking an early 2-1 advantage. However, as the set wore on, the Saints were able to string together two to four-point rallies to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Emmanuel jumped out to a 7-1 lead to start the second set and never looked back.
- The visitors scored the first three points of the third set before Brooklyn cut the lead to its smallest deficit, 5-3, before the Saints began to pull away thanks to a number of short rallies.
- Emmanuel served up 13 aces to BC's three. The Saints also hit an efficient .444 to Brooklyn's .044 on the evening.
Stat Sheet
- Emmanuel junior Thor Yingling (Truro, Mass.) finished with a match-high nine kills while hitting .600 from the floor.
- Sophomore Michael Shelley (San Francisco, Calif.) added seven kills.
- First-year Carlton Cummings (Plainsboro, N.J.) had a match-best four aces to go along with four digs.
- Tommy Min and Aaron Siu led the way in the offensive attack finishing with five kills each for the Bulldogs. Siu also served up a pair of aces.
