Fabrizio & Guest Return to GNAC Weekly Awards Podium
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior Roman Fabrizio (Salem, N.H.) and first year Trey Guest (Newington, Conn.) have been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men’s volleyball Setter & Rookie of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office. This marks the second time both have received their respective weekly honors during the 2023 campaign.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior Roman Fabrizio (Salem, N.H.) and first year Trey Guest (Newington, Conn.) have been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball Setter & Rookie of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office. This marks the third time Fabrizio has received the nod and second for Guest during the 2023 campaign.
While EC went an unblemished 4-0 in GNAC play last week, Fabrizio guided the offense by averaging 9.70 assists and 2.10 digs per set for the Saints. He had 11 assists in just one set against Dean, before posting 35 and 42 assists, respectively, in wins over Elms and Regis.
Fabrizio currently leads the GNAC while ranking 36th nationally averaging 8.48 assists per set and is second overall in assists (585) while is good for 25th among NCAA D-III setters.
Over his career, the New Hampshire native has amassed 1,435 helpers to rank seventh all-time at Emmanuel.
Guest averaged 2.92 kills and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .357 for the Saints in a perfect 4-0 week. In GNAC action vs. Regis, he tied a season-high with 14 kills in Emmanuel's 3-1 win, hitting .357 along the way.
In his first year with the Saints, Guest has recorded 141 kills to average 1.83 winners per set. He's also tallied 51 digs, 46 total blocks, seven aces and seven assists for Emmanuel.
The Saints are currently 14-10 on the year and riding a five-match winning streak, most-recently topping Elms College 3-0 to improve to 7-3 in GNAC action. EC returns to action on Thursday, March 30 for a 6:00 PM road tilt at the Dean College in Franklin, Mass.
