Guest Leads Saints in 3-0 Sweep Over Elms
BOSTON, Mass. - First year outside hitter Trey Guest (Newington, Conn.) recorded a match-high 12 kills to power host Emmanuel College over Elms College, 3-0, Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball action in Boston, Mass.

THE LEAD – First year outside hitter Trey Guest (Newington, Conn.) recorded a match-high 12 kills to power host Emmanuel College over Elms College, 3-0, Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball action in Boston, Mass.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blazers led 4-1 early in set one after a pair of kills from Moose Perry (Holyoke, Mass.) before the hosts responded with an 8-2 surge to take a 9-6 lead. It stayed a three-point lead to 15-12 and then the Saints put Elms away with their second 8-2 run of the set in the 25-14 win.
- Emmanuel opened the second set scoring the first five points including a pair of service aces from senior setter Roman Fabrizio (Salem, N.H.). The hosts nursed the lead throughout the set and with an 18-15 lead, closed the stanza with seven straight including three kills from Guest to take set two, 25-15.
- In the final set, the Saints and Blazers traded points to a 12-12 deadlock before Emmanuel opened up some separation with a 9-1 run to command a 19-13 cushion following consecutive kills by senior middle hitter Josh McDonald (Smithtown, N.Y.). The hosts held on for the 25-16 win to sweep the night, 3-0 for their fourth straight victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Guest finished the night with a game-high 12 kills while hitting a solid .562 (12-3-16) in the win.
- Fabrizio dished out 35 assists, adding three aces, one dig and one block assists.
- Sophomore Louis Da Silva (Marseille, France) and senior Joshua McDonald (Smithtown, N.Y.) both recorded eight kills on the night.
- First-year Michael Shelley (San Francisco, Calif.) chipped in with seven kills.
- Perry paced the Blazers with a team-high eight kills.
- First year Nick Sciabica (Floral Park, N.Y.) recorded a match-high eight digs for EC.
- Emmanuel improves to 18-9 all-time vs. the Blazers and the win snaps a six-match losing streak for the Saints vs. Elms.
