BOSTON, Mass. - Junior Hunter Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) and sophomore Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) posted 11 kills each to power No. 10 Wentworth Institute of Technology over Emmanuel College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-10), Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s volleyball action on the Andy Yosinoff Court.

THE LEAD – Junior Hunter Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) and sophomore Jacob LaBouliere (Pipersville, Pa.) posted 11 kills each to power No. 10 Wentworth Institute of Technology over Emmanuel College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-10), Thursday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's volleyball action on the Andy Yosinoff Court.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The action was tight in the opening set all the way to a 15-13 score favoring the Leopards before WIT rattled off 10 consecutive points to close out the frame behind the service game of junior Colin Stockton (Hummelstown, Pa.) to give Wentworth the 25-13 first set win.
- The Saints battled in set two, holding a lead late in the action at 21-20 following a kill by junior Daniel Keyes (Fall River, Mass.) but the Leopards responded with a 5-1 spurt to clock out the frame which included a pair of aces by sophomore Tyler Jack (San Jose, Calif.) to close out the set for WIT, 25-21.
- After trading the first two points in the third, Wentworth rattled off seven straight to build a 9-2 lead following an Oshman kill. Emmanuel hung around to a 15-9 score before WIT scored nine consecutive points to open up a 24-9 advantage. EC first year Thor Yingling (Turro, Mass.) got Emmanuel into double-digits with a kill before a service error ended it with a 25-10 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- WIT combined to hit .280 as a team in the win compared to a .027 hitting clip for the Saints.
- Wentworth controlled the net-game with nine total blocks compared to three for EC.
- EC first year Jyles Amirault (Andover, Mass.) led all players with 12 kills and a match-high seven digs.
- Senior setter Connor Adams (Budd Lake, N.J.) paced the WIT offense with 27 assists while his Emmanuel counterpart, Roman Fabrizio (Salem, N.H.), dished out 19 helpers in the defeat.
- The win for the Leopards marked their ninth straight over Emmanuel but the Saints still hold the all-time series lead with a 22-14 record.
UP NEXT
- Both squads wrap up the regular-season on Saturday, April 2 with a GNAC tri-match. The Saints head to New London, N.H. to face Lasell University at 1:00 PM followed by a tilt with host Colby-Sawyer College at 3:00 PM. WIT travels to Weston, Mass. to take on Regis at 10:00 AM followed by an important showdown with Rivier University at 12:00 PM.
