Bio
AS A SENIOR...
- Played in and started all 17 matches before the 2020 campaign was cut short due to the CoVID19 epidemic, serving as a team captain
- Led the GNAC with seven double-doubles on the year, posting three with kills/assists and four with assists/digs statistics
- Was the only player in the GNAC to record over 300 assists, 100 kills and 100 digs on the year
- Opened the season with a strong performance in a 3-2 win over Eastern Nazarene on Janary 21, dishing out a season-high 42 assists to go along with a season-high 13 digs, adding five kills in the victory
- Came one dig shy of a rare triple-double on January 30 vs. Nichols, collecting a career-high 16 kills while passing out 29 assists to go along with nine digs
- Once again came one dig shy of a triple-double in a home victory over Saint Joseph's (BK), collecting 13 kills, 10 assists and nine digs in the 3-0 sweep on February 22
- Named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll three times during the season
- Earned GNAC All-Conference Second Team honors for the third season in a row
AS A JUNIOR...
- Started in all 34 contests for the Saints during a standout junior campaign in which he led the GNAC while ranking second in the nation in total assists (1,117), setting a new Emmanuel single-season record
- Served as a team co-captain
- Recorded four double-doubles on the year with assists/digs including a 40 assist/15 dig effort vs. Nichols College on February 2 and was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll following the performance
- Tallied 20+ assists in 31 matches, 30+ assists in 18 matches, 40+ assists in eight matches and 50+ in three contests including a career-high 57 helpers in a 3-1 victory over Johnson & Wales University on April 6
- Earned GNAC All-Conference Second Team honors for the second straight season, finishing the year with a league-best 1,117 assists, averaging 9.71 helpers per set to rank 11th in the nation
- Finished the season with 182 digs, 61 kills, 41 total blocks and 23 aces
- Tabbed the 2019 EC Men's Volleyball Unsung Hero by the Coaching Staff
AS A SOPHOMORE...
- McDonagh appeared in all 31 contests for the Saints, starting 28 of the matches while also serving as a team captain
- The setter recorded at least 20 assists in all but one contest for the Saints, totalling 949 on the season
- McDonagh was able to match his season-best in assists of 50 twice, both against conference opponent Lasell
- Finished the season with 47 total blocks, 57 kills and 25 service aces
- Named to the GNAC All-Conference Second Team
AS A FRESHMAN...
- Started in all 93 sets and 29 matches in his rookie campaign
- McDonagh made his collegiate debut on January 21 in a non-conference bout against MIT where he also recorded his first career double-double after tallying 20 assists and 11 digs.
- The setter recorded 20 or more assists in 20 contests for the Saints
- On April 1, McDonagh, tallied a season-high 50 assists in a GNAC matchup against crosstown rival Emerson College.
- McDonagh was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on February 6 following a week in which the Saints recorded two consecutive wins and the setter assisted on 50 points.
- Wrapped up his rookie season with 705 assists, 110 digs, 60 kills, 50 total blocks and 16 services aces
BEFORE EMMANUEL:
- McDonagh was a three year varsity volleyball player at Long Beach High School (Long Beach, NY) starting two of those seasons
- Mcdonagh captained his team during his senior year and was named to the All-County and All-Tournament teams
- He was also an All-Conference basketball player for Long Beach High School
