ENGLISH EARNS GNAC CORVIAS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College's Erik English earned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors. The award comes after the freshman outside hitter posted a double-double in non-conference match-up against nationally ranked 14 MIT.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College's Erik English earned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors. The award comes after the freshman outside hitter posted a double-double in non-conference match-up against nationally ranked 14 MIT.
The Simi Valley, California native tallied 13 kills on 29 attacks, good for a .241 kill percentage and added an ace. English accounted for 14 points in the match. On defense English was active digging the ball 13 times to round out a double-double against one of the nation's top teams.
This is the sophomore's second year starting for the Saints. He has been recognized on multiple occasions by the GNAC including winning Rookie of the Week honors the week of March 7, 2016.
English and the Saints will host GNAC opponent Johnson and Wales on Tuesday March, 14 for a 7pm match. Emmanuel will then travel to Rivier University Saturday March 18 for an afternoon tri-match where they will take on GNAC foes Mount Ida and Rivier.
