RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Emmanuel College men’s volleyball team notched a pair of 3-0 victories Saturday afternoon in non-conference action over Cairn University and Mount Saint Vincent College. The Saints improve to 4-2 on the year with the wins.

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team notched a pair of 3-0 victories Saturday afternoon in non-conference action over Cairn University and Mount Saint Vincent College. The Saints improve to 4-2 on the year with the wins.
Match 1 vs. Cairn (25-16, 25-17, 25-17)
Emmanuel set the tone early against Cairn hitting .310 in set one, collecting 14 kills along the way to post a 25-16 win. The Saints would go on to hit a combined .313 for the match, cruising to the three set win over the Highlanders.
Senior outside hitter Drew Jordan (Braintree, Mass.) led the way with a match-high 10 kills while senior outside hitter Barrett Wingard (York, Pa.) added seven kills and a .462 hitting clip. Rookie opposite Kevin Orsley (San Jose, Calif.) also added seven kills in the win. Junior setter Jorge Rojas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) dished out 29 helpers for EC.
Match 2 vs. Mount Saint Vincent (25-17, 25-20, 25-13)
Another strong team hitting performance powered the Saints past the Dolphins in straight sets as Emmanuel combined to hit .357. The Saints best set ended the day with an exclamation as the squad hit .381 from the floor in the third set en route to a 25-13 win.
Jordan and Wingard each registered nine kills to lead the Saints. Senior middle Julian Hess (Santa Monica, Calif.) chipped in with six kills and a 1.000 hitting percentage converting all six attempts. Kevin Gallegos (Los Angeles, Calif.) paced the defensive effort with 10 digs and Rojas was consistent running the offensive show with 28 assists.
