AS A FRESHMAN ... Gurule was the starting libero for the Saints as a rookie ... saw action in all 32 of Emmanuel's matches, including appearances in a team-high 112 sets ... finished the season ranked 2nd on the team and 20th in the GNAC in total digs with 144, averaging 1.29 per set ... dished out 37 assists on the year for an average of 0.33 helpers per set ... recorded his season high in digs with 16 versus Lasell on April 4th ... was named the team's Unsung Hero at Emmanuel's Athletic Awards Night on April 27th ... was voted the GNAC Men's Volleyball Defensive player of the Week on April 8th ... helped lead the team to a second place finish in the conference and an appearance in the GNAC Finals.

BEFORE EMMANUEL ... Gurule was a four-year varsity player and starter at Cathedral HS (CA) ... named to the Del Rey League Second Team as a junior while being honored as a Del Rey League First Team selection as a senior ... helped lead CHS to the Division IV Championship in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) ... received an All-CIF team award while also being named to several All-Tournament teams over high school career.
