Sept. 27, 2007

The two teams suffered from near misses until the 72nd minute of the contest when Emmanuel's Marko Nichols-Marcy (Red Hook, NY) came through a pack of Mitchell defenders to put the second goal in, just out of reach for Mitchell's keeper. The Pequots then evened the score at 2, ripping a shot from the 30-yard line into the upper right corner of the net. The Pequots and the Saints battled back and fourth until the end of regulation with the scored tied 2-2. Seven minutes into the first overtime, the Pequots placed a free kick into the box and broke past the Emmanuel defense to drill a shot into the lower right part of the net.
