MEN'S SOCCER TO PLAY 2008 HOME GAMES AT DILBOY STADIUM
May 29, 2008
Emmanuel College will host all of the Saints' 2008 men's soccer home games at Dilboy Stadium in Someville, MA. The Saints have previously played home games on the fields at Boston English High School, East Boston Stadium, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Pine Manor College. Emmanuel's 17-acre campus in downtown Boston unfortunately does not contain athletic fields for any of the outdoor sports. Dilboy Stadium will offer the Saints consistency in their home site. GNAC rival, Suffolk University also uses Dilboy Stadium for their home soccer games.
This new premier facility offers stadium seating, lighted field turf, which is newly renovated, as well as restrooms and locker rooms. Parking is also available at Dilboy Stadium. The stadium is located at Fairfax Street and Alewife Brook Parkway in Somerville. Dilboy Stadium is named after George Dilboy, who was awarded the Medal of Honor during World War I. Emmanuel College hosted the 2007 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship on this field.
Emmanuel's 2008 regular season men's schedule includes eight home games. The Saints will host the following teams at Dilboy Stadium this fall: University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Rivier College, MIT, Mitchell College, Framingham State College, Lasell College, Emerson College, and Norwich University.

The Winsor School is located just steps from the Emmanuel campus on Brookline Avenue. The school began its 13-week field renovation project on May 19th. The field is anticipated to be completed in early August, making it available for both, the Saints' preseason and regular season practices.
