Bio

David Demelo began his career with the Saints in the Fall of 2013 as an Assistant Coach for the Emmanuel College Men’s Soccer Team.  In his first year at EC, Demelo helped lead the Saints to a GNAC Quarterfinal appearance.

Since 2012, Demelo has worked full-time at the New England Revolution Academy, where he is a Technical Staff Coach for the Regional Development School, a Staff Coach in Curriculum Development in the Sports Performance Academy and an At-Large Assistant Coach for the U14, U16 and U18 Academy Teams.

Prior to coaching at Emmanuel, Demelo was the Assistant Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass.

As a collegiate player, Demelo captained and was named the Most Valuable Player of his junior college team at Dean in 2008.  While at Dean College, Demelo was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-New England and All-Region in 2008.  He later majored in Business Management at Rhode Island College, where he played soccer for the RIC Anchormen in 2009.

Following college, Demelo played professionally for Operario in the Portuguese 2nd Division.  He saw action in 12 games, starting in 10 of them in 2010.

Demelo currently resides in Fall Rivier, Mass.
