MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's soccer team played Emmanuel College to a scoreless, double-overtime draw Tuesday evening in non-conference action Walter M. Katz Field.
With the result, Curry moves to 2-1-3 on the season, while Emmanuel moves to 5-1-1.
Each team controlled the play in one half of regulation, but neither team found the back of the net. The Saints controlled the flow in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting Curry by a margin of 9-2. The tide shifted toward the Colonels in the second stanza, however, as the hosts held a 10-5 edge in shots.
Each netminder, Curry's Kyle Tremblay (Methuen, Mass.) and Emmanuel's Vincent Conelli (West Hartford, Conn.) made four saves in regulation time to force the game to overtime.
In the two extra sessions, Emmanuel held a narrow 3-2 edge in shots, but neither keeper conceded the game-winner.
Tremblay and Conelli each finished with six save shutouts in the draw. Conelli remains unbeaten in 2021, now sitting at 3-0-1, including a pair of shutouts in four starts.
The Saints are 4-0-1 in their last five matches and look to keep their unbeaten streak alive as they return to play on Saturday at St. Joseph's College of Maine with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
