HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half featured five goals, all scored in the opening 20 minutes of the match, including three goals in under a three-minute span.
- The scoring started just 6:44 into the match on the second goal of the season by senior Kyle Monaghan (Monson, Mass.). On a loose ball in the box, junior Alec Erskine (Coventry, Conn.) chipped a short pass to Monaghan just in front of the goal. Monaghan was able to covert from short range for the 1-0 lead.
- Less than a minute later and on a long throw in from Rams first year Edward Abouzeid (Norton, Mass.), Suffolk sophomore Brady Sorensen (Plymouth, Mass.) was able to flick a header past Saints senior goalie Vincent Conelli (West Hartford, Conn.), tying the match at 1-1.
- Rams graduate student Nigel Leo (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Saints senior Ethan Skinner (Guilford, Conn.) exchanged goals in the 10th and 14th minutes, respectively, at the match sat at 2-2.
- Monaghan struck again in the 20th minute for his second goal of the match. On a fast break, senior Campbell Shealy (Lexington, S.C.) sent in a low cross that Monaghan snuck inside the post with his shot, giving the Saints a 3-2 lead.
- Right after halftime, first year Joey Soucy (Attleboro, Mass.) put the Saints ahead by two goals with his third of the season. Soucy recovered a blocked shot near the penalty area and with a quick shot on goal, Soucy gave Emmanuel a 4-2 lead.
- The Rams would cut the deficit back to one on another long throw in from Abouzeid, this time finding Rams first year Erik Van Even (Boston, Mass.), leaving Suffolk trailing 4-3.
