PROVIDENCE, R.I. – With playoff position implications on the line Wednesday, the Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team scored a 3-0 win over Emmanuel College to keep pace in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference standings. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead with two long distance attempts in the first half then finished the job with a goal midway through the last frame.

The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead with two long distance attempts in the first half then finished the job with a goal midway through the last frame.

Of Note:
The Wildcats got the scoring started in the 11th minute of the first half when Teagan Drake launched a shot from deep that found its home in the top, left corner of the goal.
JWU's Riley McNicholas headed a near midfield free kick from Andrew Vecere into the net in the 33rd minute that put the Wildcats in control.
Shots were in JWU's favor, 14-9, as were corner attempts at 3-1. All nine of Emmanuel shots were attempted by different players.
Next Game:
The Wildcats finish their conference schedule on the road Saturday when they visit Anna Maria College for a 5:00 PM start. Emmanuel is also on the road to round out its GNAC slate, heading to West Hartford, COnn. to take on the University of Saint Joseph (CT) at 2:30 PM in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
