MEN'S SOCCER COMES UP JUST SHORT VS ROGER WILLIAMS IN 2-1 FINAL

Less than 13 minutes into the game, Garett Bolton (Candia, N.H.) sent a far ball to the goal, which John Ryan (Southbury, Conn.) was able to get possession of at the top of the box. Ryan sent the ball Hunter Graham (North Yarmouth, Maine) who took a shot and forced a diving save from Jonathan Ferrarini (Hanover, Mass.).
With 24:05 left in the first half, Jake Fitting (Bristol, R.I.) and Michael Oliveira (Waterville, Maine) had back-to-back shots on the goal for RWU, both saved by Ferrarini to keep the game scoreless.
A shot from Kyle King (Gorham, Maine) in the 15th minute was denied by a great save from Hawk keeper James Lee (Sudbury, Mass.).
At the 30:34 mark in the first half, Oliveira was able to find the back of the net with a pass from Conner Edwards (Deerfield, Mass.), putting RWU up 1-0.
Only two minutes into the second half, Samuel Burghardt (Gorham, Maine) had a fast breakaway and sent a cross ball to King who tied the game 1-1.
The Hawks gained the lead again with 30 minutes left in the second half, when Graham found the left corner of the goal on a shot that just crossed over the goal line despite an effort from Ferrarini.
Emmanuel almost tied the game in the 51st minute on a header by Erik Gustafson (Ipswich, Mass.), but the shot just sailed wide.
The Hawks remained undefeated with a final score of 2-1.
James had three saves for the Hawks, while Ferrarini had 10 saves for the Saints.
Roger Williams University (11-0-0) will host Bridgewater State on Wednesday. Emmanuel College (4-5-1) will travel to #9 St. Joseph's College (ME) on Tuesday.
