MEN'S SOCCER BATTLE TO 1-1 TIE AGAINST THE FALCONS
The Lead: Junior defender Travis Cole (Beckley, W.V.) scored his second goal of the season to give the Saints a first half lead which they would hang onto until Justyn Broderick buried a goal late in regulation to even the score. The two teams battled throughout overtime with the game ending in a 1-1 draw in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints struck first 9:18 seconds into the game on a perfectly played free kick from senior midfielder Cameron Messier (Belchertown, Mass.) that was finished by Cole on a powerful header.
- The Saints had two chances late in the first half to double their lead, but missed the mark leaving them 1-0 up at half.
- The Saints dominated possession in the first half and edged the Falcons 6-5 in shots
- Salah Oumorou began the second half by creating Falcons best chance of the night, but was turned away by Jonathan Ferrarini. (Hanover, Mass.)
- Albertus Magnus outpaced the Saints in the second half leading to many dangerous scoring chances as they outshot the Saints 9-1 in the half.
- The Falcons did not strike until 1:37 left in regulation to knot the game up at 1-1, on a service from Ritchy Jean Pierre that was put away by Broderick.
- With Emmanuel on their heels the Falcons drove down the field again with a minute left in regulation and a ball crossed into the box that was knocked around
- Albertus Magnus outshot Emmanuel 13-8 in regulation, but the Saints edged the Falcons 5-4 in overtime.
- The Saints had the best scoring opportunity of the overtime periods early in the first OT when Steve Sexton (Merrimack, N.H.) made a dazzling run down the right wing and whipped a ball into Eymar Principe (Caracas, Venezuela), but the chance was spoiled by Albertus Magnus Goalkeeper Joe Russo
- The Saints outshot the Falcons 5-4 in the two overtime frames.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Albertus Magnus had more dangerous scoring opportunities, outshooting Emmanuel 18-12 on the evening.
- The corner kicks where even with both sides earning seven
