MESSIER NAMED CORVIAS GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College junior midfielder Cameron Messier (Belchertown, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Men's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College junior midfielder Cameron Messier (Belchertown, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Men's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
Messier put together a solid week for the Saints scoring two goals for a total of four points. Both goals came in a 3-1 win over Mount Ida College this past Saturday evening. The junior broke a 1-1 tie in the 59th minute of play with the eventual game-winner to help the Saints move to 8-8-2 on the year and 4-4-2 in the GNAC.
The Belchertown, Mass. native has quietly put together a fantastic season for the Saints collecting 12 points on three goals and six assists. His six assists rank tied for first all-time for helpers in a single-season, sharing the honor with James Carroll ('14) and Christopher Clark ('08).
Over his career, Messier has accumulated 23 points on seven goals and nine assists. He currently ranks tied for sixth all-time at Emmanuel in assists and 16th all-time in goals.
Messier and the Saints are back in action next weekend in the GNAC Quarterfinals, as they travel to #3 Johnson & Wales University for a 1:00 PM game.
