FIELD & SAINATO EARN GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
BOSTON, Mass. – Seniors David Field (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Stefano Sainato (Albany, N.Y.) have been named to the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Soccer All Conference Team, it was announced by the conference office today. Field makes his third consecutive appearance on the All-Conference team, earning First Team honors this season while Sainato earns Third Team honors for the first time in his collegiate career.
BOSTON, Mass. – Seniors David Field (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Stefano Sainato (Albany, N.Y.) have been named to the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Soccer All Conference Team, it was announced by the conference office today. Field makes his third consecutive appearance on the All-Conference team, earning First Team honors this season while Sainato earns Third Team honors for the first time in his collegiate career.
Field capped his senior season with a career-high 19 points on seven goals and five assists to rank first on the team in points and tied for 10th overall in the GNAC. Field recorded 14 of his 19 points during GNAC play to rank tied for third in the conference in points during GNAC action. From October 10 through October 24, Field scored a goal in five consecutive games.
Over his career, Field has tabulated 46 points on 17 goals and 12 assists. He ranks fifth all-time in goals, fourth all-time in points and tied for second all-time in assists.
Sainato enjoyed a strong senior campaign as one of the Saints standout midfielders. He played in all 17 contests, starting 16 of them and ended the year with a career-best 14 points on six goals and two assists. All 14 of his points came in GNAC action to rank tied for third in the conference with Field for points in conference play. He became the first player in program history to score two goals in back-to-back GNAC contests in 3-2 wins over Saint Joseph's College (ME) and Albertus Magnus College.
He finished his career with 65 games played to rank tied for seventh all-time, recording 34 points on 14 goals and six assists. Sainato ranks sixth in points and goals and tied for ninth in assists among EC annals.
Additionally, EC freshman David Quaye (Ashburnham, Mass.) earned GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team honors.
Emmanuel wrapped the 2015 season with an overall record of 5-11-1, posting a 4-4-1 mark in the GNAC. EC earned the No. 5 seed in the GNAC tournament before falling to No. 4 Lasell, 1-0, to close out the campaign.
