Both squads battled through severe heat and humidity with the Eagles finishing with a 5-4 shots-on-goal advantage, but the hosts couldn't find the equalizer. The Saints extended their unbeaten streak to six against the Eagles.
Senior keeper Garrett Charette (West Springfield, Mass.) picked up the shutout in goal for the Saints, registering five saves, while Eagle keeper Sean Hamilton (Brookline, N.H.) made three stops.
DWC saw a terrific opportunity to tie things in the 64th minute, as Eusebio Marote sent a long kick up the middle to Michael Ottman (Kennebunkport, Maine), who tipped his shot to the left but was denied by an outstretched Charette, to preserve the lead.
The Eagles visit Framingham State University on Tuesday and return home next Saturday to face first-year program Pine Manor College at 1:00 PM. Emmanuel will play this Tuesday at Wheaton College in a 4:00 PM start.
