BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Kevin Shirley (Madison, Conn.) has been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Third Team All-Conference squad, it was announced earlier today by the conference office.
Shirley put together a solid senior campaign, leading the Saints in points (16) and goals (7). His seven goals ranked tied for second in the GNAC while his 16 points were good for a ninth place tie in conference action. The Madison, Conn. native scored Emmanuel's first goal of the season in a 1-0 victory over Daniel Webster in the season opener on Sept. 1 and then enjoyed a two-goal outing later in the season in Emmanuel's 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Saint Joseph's College (ME) on Sept. 30.
Over his four-year career, Shirley played in a total of 71 games while starting 66 contests, both of which rank first all-time in the program's history. The forward registered 62 points to rank second all-time in the Saints record book while his 10 assists and 26 goals also place him second all-time in both career categories.
The Saints capped the 2012 season with a 4-12-2 overall record, finishing just outside the qualifying teams for the GNAC tournament.
