Bio

Peter Friedman joined the Emmanuel athletic staff in 2011, as the mens' lacrosse program prepared for its inaugural varsity season. Friedman brings a wealth of lacrosse knowledge and experience to Emmanuel College's young program.

Coach Friedman developed an early love for the game at the Peddie School under the tutelage of Coach Bob Turco. As a senior captain at Peddie in 2001, the Falcons went 16-0 and were Prep A state champions, marking only the second undefeated season in Peddie history.

Friedman then went on to play lacrosse at Bates College under Coach Peter Lasagna, former Brown University Division I Coach of the Year. A four year starter on attack at Bates, Friedman captained the team as a senior and guided the school to 10 wins and a berth in NESCAC semi-finals, the progam's best season ever. Friedman graduated from Bates in 2005 with a double major in English and French and taught English in southern France for a year before settling in New York City, working under Chancellor Joel Klein at the New York City Department of Education.

While working in New York City, Friedman launched Triskallian Tours, a teen educational travel company that specializes in community-service based programs to various countries in Latin America and South America. In addition to operating a "Surf and Service" and "Turtle Protection Program," Peter currently serves as the lead guide and program director for Triskallian's "Lacrosse and Service" program. "Lacrosse and Service" transports American high school lacrosse players to various locations in Costa Rica and Ecuador with the mission of spreading the love for the sport of lacrosse, while simultaneously using the sport as a platform for social and economic change in underprivileged parts of the world.
