Men's Lacrosse Scores 17-7 Senior Day Win Over Elms

The Saints improve to 3-9 (3-3 GNAC) with the victory while the Blazers drop to 5-4 (3-2 GNAC) with the loss. For Emmanuel, the victory marks their second straight win, rounding out a three-game homestand.
Prior to the game, Emmanuel celebrated the Class of 2024 members Eric Anderson (Sparta, N.J.), Michael Tardibuono (Westfield, N.J.), Jake Cioffi (Lincoln, R.I.), Nolan Bosse (Abington, Mass.), Rob Favuzza (Saugus, Mass.), Thomas Quigley (Marblehead, Mass.), Aidan Sullivan (Burlington, Conn.), and Antonio Piotti (Cumberland, R.I.).
The Saints jumped out to an early 4-1 lead through the first quarter with the help of two goals each for junior Ryan Etzo (Bedford, Mass.) and sophomore Cole Cloney (Medfield, Mass.). Elms cut the deficit to one after back-to-back tallies to open the second quarter, but four different Saints scored in the final 9:27 of the half, as Emmanuel led 8-4 at the break.
Emmanuel charged forward in the third, scoring five in the frame, putting the game out of reach following the offensive outburst. Junior Sanzio DiGesualdo (Niskayuna, N.Y.) scored twice in the quarter while Quigley, Etzo, and sophomore Samuel Yan (Cranston, R.I.) added goals to lift the Saints to a 13-5 edge through three quarters.
The Saints outscored the Blazers 4-2 in the final quarter thanks to goals by DiGesualdo, Etzo, Favuzza, and junior Evan Decker (Milwaukee, Wis.), giving them a 17-7 Senior Day victory.
Etzo and DiGesualdo both finished with a career-high four goals while one assist for Etzo gave him a career-high five points and two helpers for DiGesauldo gave him a career-best six-point afternoon. Cloney added three goals and two assists for a five-point day while Favuzza and Quigley each finished with one goal and two assists. Anderson made 13 saves for the Saints in the win.
Sophomore Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada) and first-years Miah Rondon and Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, Mass.) all scored two for the Blazers. First-year goalie Casey Dmochowski (Rutland, Mass.) made 18 saves in the defeat.
The Saints make the short trip to Regis College on Wednesday, April 10, for a 6:00 p.m. GNAC faceoff with the Pride. The Blazers host Johnson & Wales on April 10 at 7:00 p.m.
