Senior Spotlight Series - Alex Flanagan - Men's Lacrosse
With the sudden end to the 2020 spring seasons due to the CoVID19 epidemic, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department wanted to take a moment to recognize members of the class of 2020 during the final semester of their senior season at Emmanuel College. The Senior Spotlight Series was a chance for our community as Saints to give each of these individuals the notoriety and recognition they all deserve while getting a little behind the scenes glimpse into their lives outside the uniform.

Participation in this series was optional and we're grateful to have heard from so many wonderful representatives from our senior class. While their careers at Emmanuel may be coming to a close, their lives as Saints are just beginning.

SSS Q&A
1) What was your favorite memory related to your lacrosse experience?
My favorite memory is from my sophomore year when we played St. Joseph's (ME). That game we were losing by a lot and we came back and won. It stands out because I remember that game we just relaxed and had fun.
2) Favorite pre-game playlist song?
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - U2
3) Proudest athletic accomplishment/achievement at Emmanuel?
Coming back from a torn ACL in record time, and being 100% ready to start the lacrosse season as a senior captain.
4) What game/opponent did you always look forward to every season?
St. Joseph's College (ME). That game always extremely close and competitive, they were the most fun to play.
5) Other than your own sport/team, what was your favorite EC athletic program to support and why?
Women's Volleyball, they work hard and it goes unnoticed by many people.
6) One thing you'll miss the most about being on the lacrosse team at EC?
Playing the best game on earth with my best friends.
7) Tell us something most people probably don't know about you that relates to your sport.
I am extremely superstitious. I always ate the same thing, drank the same thing, listened to the same song, and tapped my stick a certain way before every game.
8) Give one shout out/thank you to someone who impacted your EC Athletic experience.
I would like to thank my parents for never missing a game and always having my back, and Carly for your support especially when I tore my ACL.
9) What are your post-grad plans?
Go to graduate school.
10) Give some advice or words of wisdom to future Saints.
Do not take one game or practice for granted. Enjoy the grind even when it is not fun because looking back working hard and pushing yourself and your team will be what you look back on. Also just have fun! You are there for four years and it flies by take it all in and be grateful for every day you have with your team and school.
Thank you, Alex, for your commiment and dedication to Emmanuel College Athletics and the Men's Lacrosse program! Check back in every Tuesday and Thursday for more content from the Senior Spotlight Series!
