Senior Spotlight Series - Jack Boyle - Men's Lacrosse
With the sudden end to the 2020 spring seasons due to the CoVID19 epidemic, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department wanted to take a moment to recognize members of the class of 2020 during the final semester of their senior season at Emmanuel College. The Senior Spotlight Series was a chance for our community as Saints to give each of these individuals the notoriety and recognition they all deserve while getting a little behind the scenes glimpse into their lives outside the uniform.
Senior Spotlight Series (SSS)
With the sudden end to the 2020 spring seasons due to the CoVID19 epidemic, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department wanted to take a moment to recognize members of the class of 2020 during the final semester of their senior season at Emmanuel College. The Senior Spotlight Series was a chance for our community as Saints to give each of these individuals the notoriety and recognition they all deserve while getting a little behind the scenes glimpse into their lives outside the uniform.
Participation in this series was optional and we're grateful to have heard from so many wonderful representatives from our senior class. While their careers at Emmanuel may be coming to a close, their lives as Saints are just beginning.
Let's meet today's featured student-athlete!
NAME: Jack Boyle
HOMETOWN: Milford, Mass.
MAJOR: Sociology
SPORT: Men's Lacrosse
SENIOR SUMMARY: Boyle was a four-year member of the Men's Lacrosse program and served as a team captain during his senior campaign. The Milford, Mass. native saw action in 22 games over his four years with the Saints, starting six contests all during his sophomore season. Boyle was known for his great work ethic on and off the field and was an amazing teammate. His junior campaign was cut short after just two games due to injury but he remained a committed member of the prorgam and provided great leadership throughout the remainder of his tenure with the Blue and Gold. He finished his career with five points on three goals and two assists including a career-high three point outing earlier this year vs. UMass Boston
SSS Q&A
1) What was your favorite memory related to your lacrosse experience?
This whole year, from the day we came back on campus to the last day of our season every member of the team bought in and gave it all they had.
2) Favorite pre-game playlist song?
My favorite pregame song is For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica.
3) Proudest athletic accomplishment/achievement at Emmanuel?
Being named Captain my senior year.
4) What game/opponent did you always look forward to every season?
I always looked forward to playing Wentworth every year. They're a good team and right down the street, it was always a fun game.
5) Other than your own sport/team, what was your favorite EC athletic program to support and why?
The men's and women's basketball teams. The both good programs and the atmosphere at home games make it a lot of fun to watch.
6) One thing you'll miss the most about being on the lacrosse team at EC?
Being around the team every day. No matter if it was practice, lift, film etc…
7) Tell us something most people probably don't know about you that relates to your sport.
I changed positions from Attack to Defensive midfield my sophomore year.
8) Give one shout out/thank you to someone who impacted your EC Athletic experience.
I feel that I must give two shoutouts here. I would first like to thank Coach Craven. He has been nothing but supportive of me on and off the field during my time here. I would also like to thank out AT Anthony. After being injured last year and being deemed unfit to go to Officer Candidate School he went out of his way to help become medically cleared again and get back there this summer.
9) What are your post-grad plans?
I am attending the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and commissioning as an officer after graduating OCS.
10) Give some advice or words of wisdom to future Saints.
Being a part of a team at Emmanuel will be one of the best experiences of your life, don't take it for granted. Take pride in what you do and let your play the field reflect that. You are always representing yourself, your team, and the school.
Thank you, Jack for your commiment and dedication to Emmanuel College Athletics and the Men's Lacrosse program! Check back in every Tuesday and Thursday for more content from the Senior Spotlight Series!
