Saints Golf Places Sixth at Tony Mariano Golf Invitational
ORANGE, Vt. – Saints senior Connor Maguire (Old Lyme, Conn.) turned in his best round of the early season, shooting a 7-over, 78, on Friday afternoon at the Tony Mariano Golf Invitational, hosted by Norwich University at the Country Club of Barre.

Maguire's round of 78 was good for his first top-10 of the season, officially finishing in a tie for eighth while being only one of 10 players to shoot under 80 on the day.
Junior Ian Reynolds (East Haven, Conn.) finished T13 after his round of 10-over, 81. Sophomore Gianni Ridolfi (Kittery, Maine) made his second appearance in the Saints lineup in 2023, finishing with an 89 and a T27 finish.
In the team event, Emmanuel shot 338, finishing sixth out of eight teams. The host Norwich (A) shot 306 on the day, claiming the win in the team event by three shots over New England College.
MCLA first-year Matt Gover (Atkinson, N.H.) won the individual title, surviving a two-hole playoff after a round of even par, 71, forced extra holes on Friday afternoon at the CC of Barre. The first-year Trailblazer has won medalist honors in three events this season, all coming in the last five days.
The Saints are back in action with their first home event of the season on Sept. 20, hosting the Saints Invitational at South Shore Country Club. Tee times for the annual event will start at 12:30 p.m.
