SAINTS SWING AWAY AT WESTFIELD STATE INVITE
The Emmanuel College Men’s Team competed in Westfield State University’s Invitational over the weekend. The nine-team tournament was played at Tekoa Country Club’s par 71, 6,421 yard course on Saturday afternoon. The Saints finished tied for 7th as a team, falling well short of Great Northeast Athletic Conference affiliate member University of Southern Maine, which took team honors on the day, finishing with a 308.

The Saints combined for 331 and Emmanuel was once again led by a pair of rookies. Freshman Matteo Pocobene (Malden, Mass.) led the Saints with a team-low of 79 and in a tie for 9th overall individually. Rookie sophomore Brett Burman (Bridgewater, Conn.) carded an 80, good for a share of 13th place. Sophomore Michael Burgess (Milton, Mass.) and freshman P.J. Levesque (Norton, Mass.) came in with a pair of 86s to round out the scoring for the Saints. Junior Ben Taylor (Newbury, Mass.) wrapped the day with a 92 for Emmanuel.
Next up for the Saints is the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship. The two-day tournament will take place next Saturday and Sunday (October 20th and 21st) at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Mass. and will be hosted by Anna Maria College.
