BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College sophomore Brett Burman (Bridgewater, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. This marks the second time this season that an Emmanuel rookie has received the honor as freshman P.J. Levesque (Norton, Mass.) was honored as the league's top rookie the week of September 17.
Last week, Burman carded the Saints low round at the Elms Blazer Invitational played at Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass. The sophomore shot an incredible one-under par 35 on the front nine and finished the round with a 78, placing sixth overall in the 80-player field. His score helped the Saints post a combined 325 to finish third overall in the 15-team match, tying the program's low for a team score.
Since joining the Saints, Burman has played in all three matches this fall. The sophomore transferred to Emmanuel from Salem State where he was a member of the Vikings varsity baseball team.
