Bio

Coach Ray Porch joined the Emmanuel Men's Basketball Staff in 2010, bringing with him over 12 years of scholastic, collegiate and international coaching experience.

Coach Porch began his coaching career in 1996 as the Head Coach at the Media Technology Charter High School. He was the first coach in school history, coaching for two seasons and leading the program to the charter school state tournament.

In 1998, Coach Porch began his collegiate coaching career, serving as an Assistant Coach at Umass-Boston and assisting in recruiting and player development.

From 1999-2001, Coach Porch served as an Assistant and Associate Head Coach at Eastern Nazarene College. During his tenure with the ENC, the knights advanced to two conference championship games.

In 2002, Coach Porch was appointed Head Coach at Benjamin Franklin Institute, a small private two-year college in Boston. At BFI, he led the Shockers to four consecutive winning seasons (2003-07). His teams averaged 15 wins per season and made four post-season tournament appearances in six years. Coach Porch also served as the college's Associate Director of Community Relations from 2005-08 and the Admissions Recruiter from 2003-04. Coach Porch currently coaches and directs camps and clinics internationally as a part of Athletes in Action and Global Sports Partners.

Coach Porch spent his playing days at UMass-Boston, where he was a two-year captain, All-Conference Player and New England All-Star.

Ray received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and English and coordinates academic remediation for University High School in Boston. He resides in Boston with his wife, Tracie and daughter, Raychell (11).
