Nicholas Nofi III joined the Emmanuel College Athletic Department staff prior to the 2015-16 season as an Assistant Coach for the Saints Men’s Basketball Team.  Nofi brings with him a plethora of coaching experience at many different levels.

Nofi began coaching at the collegiate level in 2002 as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Potomac State College in West Virginia. He led the squad to an NJCAA Region XXA Championship in 2004, guiding the squad to a 21-11 record. Over his three seasons at Potomac, Nofi compiled a 47-37 (.560) record.

After one-year coaching stints as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at both SUNY Canton (2005-06) and Bunker Bill Community College (06-07), Nofi assumed the role as an Assistant Coach at Massasoit Community College. At Massasoit, he helped coach his 2011 squad to the Region 21 Championship as well as the Massachusetts State Championship.

From 2011 to 2013, Nofi served as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Northern Essex Community College with the focus on the team’s defense. His 2012-13 team at Northern Essex ranked sixth nationally in defensive ppg, allowing an average of just 65.7 points. Following a one-year stint at Fischer College at an Assistant Coach, Nofi returned to Northern Essex as the Assistant Coach for Scouting in 2014. He also served as the Assistant Coach for Scouting at Community College or Rhode Island (CCRI) during the same calendar season.

Nofi earned his Bachelor of Science Degree specializing in Physical Education, graduating from Rhode Island College in 1992. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Education focusing on Athletic Administration from Endicott College in 2014.
