Bio

Mark Holmes joined the Emmanuel Athletic staff prior to the 2012-13 season as an Assistant Coach for the Saints Men’s Basketball Team.  Holmes came to Emmanuel after two years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level and five years at the Junior College level.  Holmes served as an Assistant Coach at Newbury College, Framingham State University and Ben Franklin Institute of Technology, before joining the Saints’ staff.

Holmes did his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Design and Communication.  After being a standout on the UMD Men’s Basketball Team from 1992-94 and helping the Corsairs to a Final Four appearance in 1993, Coach Holmes was inducted into the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Holmes works full-time as a special education chemistry and biology teacher in the Boston Public Schools and resides inDorchester, Mass.
