THE LEAD – The Emmanuel College men's basketball squad outscored Colby-Sawyer College 48-19 in the second half en route to erasing a double-digit halftime deficit in their 89-65 Great Northeast Athletic Conference road win on Saturday afternoon at the David L. Coffin Field House.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Chargers built up a 46-34 halftime lead after a strong first half showing the ended with a 6-0 run to give the hosts the 12-point lead at the break.
- After trading hoops to open the second period, Emmanuel put together a 7-1 run fueled by five points from junior Bryant Ciccio (Attleboro, Mass.) to cut into the CSC lead to 51-45.
- The hosts answered with a 4-0 flurry to return the lead to double-figures at 55-45 but EC exploded for an 18-2 run to swing momentum and take a 63-57 lead with 9:00 minutes to play in regulation.
- Over the final nine minutes, the Saints dominated the action by outscoring Colby-Sawyer 19-8 to secure the comeback win marking their seventh straight in GNAC action.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Ciccio finished with a season-high 19 points going 5-for-7 from three point land while junior Ryan Grijalva (Straham, N.H.) matched him with 19 in 31 minutes of action off the bench.
- First year guard Zaire Baines (Queens, N.Y.) added 15 points while senior Kendrick Jean-Francois (Lynn, Mass.) chipped in with 13 on a 6-for-9 shooting performance.
- Five Chargers starters finished the day in double-figures paced by a team-high 15 point outing from Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.).
- EC has won 10 of 11 including seven in a row to open GNAC play.

- The Saints close their four-game road trip on Tuesday, January 17 against Saint Joseph's College (ME) at 7:30 PM.
