HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Engineers took an early lead at 6-3 following a pair of free throws from first-year Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) and continued to lead at 8-5. Emmanuel answered in a big way though as a 13-6 run made it at 43-32 margin at the half as Spann hit a pair of free throws as the period expired.
- In the second half, the Engineers continued to trail by 12 at 55-43 following a Spann layup before the Saints stretched the lead up to 20 for the first time on a three-point play from Zaire Baines (Queens, N.Y.). The visitors led by as many as 27 points on two occasions, en route to the 17-point final margin.
