Men's Basketball Bounces Back with 86-84 OT Win Over JWU
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Emmanuel College men’s basketball team erased a 12-point second half deficit to come from behind and top Johnson & Wales University in overtime, 86-84, Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Wildcat Center.

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College men's basketball team erased a 12-point second half deficit to come from behind and top Johnson & Wales University in overtime, 86-84, Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Wildcat Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
With 5:41 remaining in the first half, Justin Bullock knocked down a three-pointer to give Johnson & Wales a 32-23 lead. The Saints worked the margin to three with JWU taking a 39-35 lead into the half.
Two-straight baskets and two free throws by Brian Hogan-Gary capped a 14-3 run that pushed the Wildcats' advantage to 59-47 at the 11:57 mark.
The Saints climbed back into the contest and Devin Pulsifer's three-pointer with 5:37 remaining tied the game at 68-68.
Emmanuel had a chance to win the game in regulation as Zachary Crisafulli was fouled with 0.9 seconds left on the clock, but he missed both free throws to send the game to over.
Crisafulli's three-pointer gave the Saints an 83-78 advantage and an Emmett Riddick free throw made it 86-84 with six seconds remaining.
Nate Patenaude's three-pointer missed the mark, but Danny Ampofo was followed with one second remaining. He missed the first free throw and intentionally missed the second, but the Wildcats could not get the rebound.
After making five three-pointers in the first half, the Wildcats only made one the rest of the way. Emmanuel was 9-of-23 from behind the arc.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- EC senior Emmett Riddick (Middletown, Conn.) led the way with 27 points.
- Junior forward Marcus Fox (Danbury, Conn.) posted another double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
- Overall, the Saints had the advantage at the free throw line as they went 15-of-24 from the stripe, compared to 12-of-16 by the hosts.
- Despite the loss, Hogan-Gary posted a 37-point, 11-rebound double-double for JWU. Also producing a double-double was Bryan Davis with 13 points and 11 boards.

The Saints are idle until Saturday, January 25 when they host Norwich University at 1:00 PM on the Andy Yosinoff Court.
