MEN’S HOOPS FALL TO GNAC RIVAL SUFFOLK IN LOW SCORING BOUT, 59-45
In a low-scoring matchup, the Suffolk University Rams were able to overthrow the Emmanuel College Saints, 59-45, led by a double-double by first-year Brendan Mulson (Albany, N.Y.) of the Rams on Thursday evening on the Andy Yosinoff Court.

THE LEAD: In a low-scoring matchup, the Suffolk University Rams were able to overthrow the Emmanuel College Saints, 59-45, led by a double-double by first-year Brendan Mulson (Albany, N.Y.) of the Rams on Thursday evening on the Andy Yosinoff Court.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emmanuel took the initial lead as senior captain Colin Cordero (Bolon, Conn.) of the Saints put away a bucket in the opening minute.
- The Rams began their scoring attack about four minutes into the game, going on a seven point scoring run, highlighted by a pair of shots behind the arc by Mulson and George Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.).
- A made layup by first-year guard Zachary Crisafulli (Easthampton, Mass.) brought the Saints to within four, 10-6, before Grillakis scored another three pointer with 11:05 left in the first half.
- Suffolk outscored the Saints 19-3 for the final 8:41 of the first half, closing up the half with a commanding 35-13 lead.
- Marcus Fox (Danbury, Conn.) and Alex Minetti (Wakefield, R.I) of the Saints took control of the second half to bring Emmanuel within ten, 49-39, combining for a total of 14 points in 15 minutes.
- Michael Hapopian (Watertown, Mass.) was able to extend the lead for the Rams back to 15 points off of a made jumper and free throw in the final two minutes of the game.
- The Saints finished the night with Emmett Riddick (Middletown, Conn.) on the line to complete his ten points on the night in the Saints loss, 59-45.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mulson recorded his second straight 20-point game as a first-year with a game-high 20 points and ten rebounds.
- Riddick was the only Saint in double figures, recording a team high ten points and four rebounds.
- The Rams were able to control the board for the night, out-rebounding the Saints 41-31.
- Both teams combined for only 57 percent from the free throw line, combining for a total 28 shots made out of 49 attempts.
