MANHATTAN, N.Y. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team suffered a pair of losses at te New York University Holiday Classic in Manhattan, N.Y. over the weekend. The Saints were upended by Becker College on Saturday, 73-68, and then fell to #12 nationally-ranked NYU by a score of 79-61.

In the first contest, the Saints trailed by 11 points with under nine minutes remaining in regulation, but erased the deficit by mounting a 15-4 run over the next seven minutes, knotting the game at 63.
Colin Cordero scored all 10 of his points in the second half, including six in the game-tying rally. The sophomore guard also assisted on the first three-pointer of Daniel Flaherty's (Warwick, R.I.) career which completed the comeback.
13 of the game's final 15 points came from the charity stripe as the Hawks finished the game on a 10-5 run to seal the win.
Including Cordero, four Saints reached double figures, as Kyle Davis tallied 12 points, and Matt Raine and Alex Minetti joined Cordero with 10 each.
The following campaign against NYU began with the Saints trailing by nine in the opening minutes, but an 8-1 run cut the Violets lead to 20-18.
Alex Minetti led all Saints scorers with 10 points and John Clay added eight points and six boards in the loss.
The Saints will attempt to get back on track on Tuesday, January 5 when they host Norwich University at 5:30 PM in Great Northeast Athletic Conference competition.
