SULLIVAN NAMED GNAC MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman guard James Sullivan (Wethersfield, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College freshman guard James Sullivan (Wethersfield, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office earlier this afternoon. This marks the second time this season that Sullivan has earned the honor as he was also recognized by the GNAC for his play during the week ending on November 24.
Last week, the Wethersfield, Conn. native put together the best week of his rookie season averaging 23.0 points and 4.5 rebounds over two games for Emmanuel. The swingman scored a game-high 25 points against Norwich University and followed it up with 21 points against Johnson & Wales for another game-high effort. The freshman was in the zone shooting a 56.6 percent clip from the floor (17-29) and 90.0 percent from the free throw line (9-10). Sullivan would also add four assists, two steals and a block to his line for the week.
On the year, Sullivan leads the Saints averaging 10.7 points per game. He's appeared in all 21 contests with five starts and is also averaging 4.3 rebounds per game to rank second on the squad.
Emmanuel returns to action on Tuesday, February 11 when they play host to Saint Joseph's College (ME) at 7:00 PM in the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium.
