Emmanuel's Student-Athlete of the Week is three-sport athlete, Maureen Kellett. Kellett, a senior, just recently wrapped up her final Cross Country season at Emmanuel. Kellett is a four-year runner for the Saints and captained the team this season. Thus far, the Westborough, Massachusetts native has earned 10 letters at Emmanuel, as she is also a four-year competitor on both the Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. Kellett also captained the Outdoor Track & Field Team last year as a junior.
This season, during her Cross Country campaign, Kellett achieved her personal best performance four different times. She ran her best two mile time (14:06) to kick off the season on September 4th. She then ran a personal best 3-miles (20:28) at Massachusetts Maritime Academy on September 11th. Her best 3.05 mile time (22:53) came on October 2nd at Gordon College's Pop Crowell Invitational. The senior captain then capped off the season with a PR at the October 30th GNAC Championship Meet in Standish, Maine, running a 5k time of 23:39. Kellett was Emmanuel's 5th finisher and scored for Emmanuel in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship on November 13th.
Kellett excels in the classroom as well and has received the team's Academic Achievement Award for both Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field. Kellett is now entering her 4th and final season of Indoor Track & Field and will captain the squad this winter. She is both a distance and mid-distance runner for the Saints' Track Teams. Kellett and the Saints will begin competition for the indoor season on Saturday, December 4th, at Northeastern University's Jay Carsella Invitational at 10:00am
